As we reflect over the past years, we are mindful of the Lord’s grace and faithfulness to CPCS. Our school’s rich history, from humble beginnings, is a reflection of His hand guiding each step. Year after year, the Lord blesses us with staff members that have a genuine passion for Christian education. At CPCS, education is more than just academics. It is also the care and guidance of teachers cultivating each and every student’s walk with the Lord. Continual growth is part of CPCS. But the real blessing from God is the spiritual growth we observe in our students each day. To God be the Glory!
Here is what some families have to say...
As a parent of 8th grade triplets, I have been blessed with the unique opportunity to watch God work through CPCS, and the lives of so many families at a very real and personal level. Cindy and I were both products of public school education. In fact, Cindy taught in the public schools for over a decade. As our children were getting closer to the age of starting school, God really put “Christian Education” on our hearts.
We (mainly Cindy) researched all the local private schools, and Cindy said, "CPCS is the one." I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. There wasn't a proper campus and classes were being held in a church. The principal at the time, Ed Mulder, was this massive God loving teddy bear. The kindergarten teacher seemed way too happy and liked to play the yukalaylee to start the day. This wasn’t my idea of the “ideal” school, but we were both at peace with our decision. The addition of our triplets as kindergartners was a plus 10% increase to the class, causing a need for a second kindergarten class! With this new enlarged kindergarten program, CPCS outgrew itself and moved kindergarten off-site to a different church. The school would go through another move to temporary facilities prior to being blessed with the beautiful school we currently have.
During this time of change and trials at CPCS, my family was going through our own personal trials. Cindy had been battling cancer since our children turned one, but her condition took a real turn in 2005 when a grapefruit sized cancerous tumor was removed from her brain. It was during this period where God showed us part of the reason he had directed us to CPCS. The compassion, help, care and support we received from the Association, was and is clearly evident that the Spirit of Christ is alive and present at CPCS.
For in the nine years I have been involved in the school I have witnessed dreams turn into blue prints, blueprints become brick and mortar, and brick and mortar become a safe haven for our children. Students are blessed with a quality education, an understanding how God is involved in all areas of learning in their lives, and most importantly loved. The current enrollment nearly triples in numbers from the time we started.
When Cindy passed away two years ago, I heard the stories of classes instantly stopping and kids getting on their hands and knees to pray. Young children, brothers and sisters in Christ instantly, instinctively going to the only source of true power, comfort and strength, our Heavenly Father. During the wake and funeral to follow, the teachers, faculty, students and parents surrounded me and my children with love, prayer, and support. It was crystal clear we were exactly where God intended for us to be.
I want to thank CPCS and this Association that has become part of my family, and for allowing me to serve. Your example of love and care has been witnessed by many, making huge impacts on lives beyond your belief. We are blessed to be part of a school not just interested in raw numbers or size, but truly committed to investing in the hearts and souls of the students. The dividends on that investment is absolutely priceless.

Crown Point Christian School has been an important part of our family’s life since the early 1990’s. Before any of our children were of school age, Eric was a board member of CPCS. We as a family fondly remember the two years we had all five of our children in CPCS at the same time. We have also seen and experienced five campuses; many years our children were spread out at different locations. We have participated in many auctions, graduations, field trips, sporting events and sport complexes, dinners, meetings, and programs. As we look back, we see numerous blessings in our life that included CPCS. Most of all, our lives have been touched by the teachers and staff, as well as the relationships and friendships we have formed with other parents and of course, students! Knowing that we place our children in the hands of teachers who pray for them and dedicate themselves to present God to them in their studies, athletics, music and interaction with others is something that cannot be overlooked. We have truly been blessed! We have seen our three oldest sons graduate from CPCS, and look forward with excitement as we form new memories until we graduate our last two children in a few years. We have experienced over twenty years with CPCS, and am sometimes overwhelmed by the goodness God has shown to this school and its community of families. Christian education is not always the easiest choice, but for our family, has been the best choice! “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6
